Banana Symposium in South Africa

The International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS)/ProMusa Symposium entitled "Recent advances in banana crop protection for sustainable production and improved livelihoods" will be held on September 10-14, 2007 in Greenway Woods Resort, White River, South Africa. Topics to be discussed include: disease and pest constraints to banana production; the role of crop improvement in pest and disease management; and the sequencing the major Mycosphaerella pathogens of wheat and banana. The meeting will comprise a 3-day symposium, a field visit to banana farms and a 1-day workshop.
