Workshop on Biosafety Policy and Regulations Network
August 10, 2007 |
The Biotechnology and Biosafety Information Center (BBIC), in conjunction with Biotechnology Alliance Association (BAA), organized the forum “Sharing experiences on implementing biotechnology and biosafety policies and regulations” on 12 June 2007. The aim of the forum was to improve the understanding amongst participants from the public and private sectors, including farmers, about how the country implements the biotechnology and biosafety policies and regulations. The event also aimed to strengthen the capacity and cooperation for biotechnology, biosafety and related food safety in Thailand. More than 100 participants participated, and learned from the specific experiences of the experts in this field in dealing with issues such as environmental risk assessment, food safety, risk communication and public participation in implementing their regulations and policies.
