Fraley: Biotech Wheat Moves Closer to Market

Herbicide tolerant wheat development is making a good progress, according to Monsanto Chief Technology Officer and World Food Prize Laureate Robert Fraley. He said that the grain industry and the wheat industry have remained interested of biotech advances because a wheat farmer is also a grower of corn and soybean and so they understand the benefits of the technology. Although their research is making progress, the commercialization of biotech wheat is still a number of years away. At present, no biotech wheat are commercialized in any country.
