Agriculture Awareness Campaign In Pakistan

An agro-awareness campaign will be held from April 28 to June 23, 2011 in Pakistan. This was announced by the Director General of Agricultural Extension, Mr. Abdul Waheed Shaikh, while presiding a meeting of agricultural officers on April 22, 2011. Farmers will be updated on the latest technology related to cotton production, particularly Bt cotton.
The DG said that the first seminar will be at Sargoha, Tando Allahyar and Digri on April 28, 2011. The seminars will also be conducted in Tando Mohammad Khan, Badin, Nawabshah and Matiari on April 30, May 2, and May 3, respectively, followed by the one in Noushero Feroze on May 8. Shaikh instructed the officers to conduct extensive social communication with the growers, stakeholders and sister organizations to make the campaign more meaningful.
