Pakistan and China to Set Up Agricultural Research Centers

Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani expressed appreciation to China for its plan to set up agricultural research and demonstration centers in the country. Conveying his thoughts to Mr. Liu Jian, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, the Prime Minister requested that centers be established in different cities particularly for Bt cotton in Multan, rice in Gujranwala, and wheat in major growing areas.
The ambassador told the Prime Minister that every effort would be made by the Chinese government in consultation with the government of Pakistan to ensure the set-up of agricultural research centers as soon as possible.
