Syngenta and Embrapa Collaborate on Improving Crop Quality and Yield

Syngenta and Embrapa, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, have joined efforts to help Brazilian growers improve crop quality and yield of corn, cotton and soybean. "This agreement represents another step forward in establishing innovative partnerships, combining Embrapa's expertise with that of the private sector, and favoring socio-economic development mainly in national agriculture," said Pedro Arraes, Head of Embrapa.

Syngenta is field testing Embrapa's cotton seed varieties in different regions while in soybean, they will identify and treat identified diseases and nematodes. Eventually, the two organizations will also work together on sugarcane and expand efforts to other Latin American countries.
