The world's first plant-based seaweed burger is launched in the US. The Kelp Burger is sourced from ocean-farmed seaweed which could be a sustainable solution to global warming.

Kelp Burger, developed by New York-based meat alternative brand Akua, is gluten-free and a healthy plant-based alternative to conventional meat. It has high amounts of zinc, calcium, folate, potassium, iron, fiber, and protein, as well as vitamins A, B6, and K. Kelp also helps absorb carbon and nitrogen in the ocean and does not need any fertilizers, freshwater, feed, or any dry land to grow.

The demand for plant-based meat alternatives is increasing globally. Regenerative ocean farming could be the answer in producing zero-input crops which also helps prevent water acidification in the ocean.
