Russia Approves GM Maize Event 3272

The Russian Federation has recently approved Syngenta's genetically modified maize Event 3272 for feed use in the country. Event 3272 contains an amylase enzyme that is used for the dry-grind fuel ethanol process from maize, replacing the external addition of microbially produced enzyme.

This product was approved in Russia for food use in April 2010. It is approved for food and or feed use import  in Australia/New Zealand, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Philippines and the USA, and approved for cultivation in Canada.
