Texas Tech Gets Bayer Research Grant

Texas Tech University's Department of Plant and Soil Sciences is a recipient of a $7.5 million grant from Bayer CropScience to do research and development activities aimed at developing cotton with improved fiber properties. The University will match this fund through the Texas Research Incentive Program.

"We're committed to delivering innovation in cotton that will improve the sustainability and economic value of cotton from the farm all the way to consumers," said Joachim Schneider, head of the BioScience Buiness Unit of Bayer CropScience. Funds will be allocated to support the research collaboration and the establishment of a Plant and Soils Building at the University.
