Primer Explores the Future of Plant Science
October 31, 2008 |
The U.S. National Research Council has released a new primer on the achievements and promise of plant genome sciences. Achievements of the National Plant Genome Initiative and New Horizons in Plant Biology evaluates some of the key research programs in plant genomics and describes how these programs support fundamental biology research and drive technological advancement. Plant genome sciences are essential to understand how plants function and how to develop desirable plant characteristics. The NRC has also made available a summary booklet based on this report.
