Collaboration on Breeding Disease, Heat Resistant Chicken

Scientists from University of California at Davis, University of Ghana, Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania and University of Delaware are collaborating in new program focused on breeding chickens that are both disease resistant and heat tolerant in Africa.

The $6 million research program aims to reduce global hunger and achieve food security. The U.S. Agency for International Development is funding the program as part of the Feed the Future initiative.
