Public Consultation Event in Soybean and Corn in Uruguay

Uruguay's Committee for Risk Management announced the public consultation period for genetically modified (GM) soybean and corn events. The GM events are: soybean MON89788 x MON87708 for seed production for export; soybean MON89788 x MON87701 for commercial release; maize MON89034 x NK603 for experiments research; maize MON89034 x TC1507 x NK603 for test registration of commercial cultivars; maize TC1507 x NK603 for commercial release; and maize Bt11 x MIR162 x GA21 for commercial release.
The evaluation process will include contributions from different members of the Institutional Articulation Committee (IAC) and compiled by the Biosecurity Risk Assessment (BRA) in a technical report. This can be viewed on July 10 to 24, 2012 at http://www.mgap.gub.uy/portal/hgxpp001.aspx (DG - Biosafety Cabinet). Comments are received via bioseguridad@mgap.gub.uy or directly to the Office of Biosafety.
