Nigeria to Use Biotech to Address Food Problem

Nigeria's Federal Government will use biotechnology to address the challenge of food insecurity in the country. Minister of Science and Technology Ita Okon Bassey Ewa made this pronouncement during the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA)'s Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology held at Abuja in July.
Ewa also mentioned that efforts need to be made to increase agricultural production, control plant and animal diseases, and introduce innovative techniques to reduce post harvest losses.
