Russia's PM Putin Orders Federal Biotech Program by May

"We need to accelerate the development of a special coordination program for the development of biotechnology in Russia," said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in a directive to the Russian Economic Development Ministry. The Prime Minister expects a biotechnology program to be submitted to him by mid-May this year.
The country has less than 0.2% of the global biotech market and the Prime Minister's directive was to change this situation and create a powerful bio-industry sector.
