First Five-Gene Trait Stack Technology from Dow AgroSciences For Brazil

Brazilian farmers will be soon be offered the ‘the most effective technology for corn insect control' through the POWERCORE™ technology. This new corn technology offers a highly effective control of the most devastating corn insect pests such as Spodoptera frugiperda, Helicoverpa zea, Diatraea saccharalis, Agrotis ipsilon, and soil pest Elasmopalpus lignosellus.

In addition, the new stacked trait also offers tolerance to glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides and will be available to Brazilian farmers by 2012.

"POWERCORE is a technology that helps to avoid yield losses caused by major insect pests and weeds while using previously cultivated land in the best, most productive way," said Rolando Alegria, Dow AgroSciences Director for Seeds in Brazil.
