Pakistan Minister: Modernize Agricultural Sector
April 8, 2010 |
Punjab Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Dairy Development Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh has asked agricultural scientists to develop and modernize the agricultural sector so that the challenges to food security and import concerns could be addressed. He made this call during a talk at the Ayub Research Institute in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
The Minister said that a comprehensive planning approach has to be adapted so that Pakistan can be at par with countries such as China, Egypt, and other developing countries. He noted that the government is spending much on agricultural research and the public should benefit from it.
