Victoria Forges Alliance with Dow Agro

The Australian State of Victoria is teaming up with Dow AgroSciences for "crop innovation", Minister for Innovation Gavin Jennings announced at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Conference 2009 in Georgia, United States. Victoria's Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and Dow will work together to develop "agronomically important technologies that will improve yields in crops to meet growing global demands for food, feed and energy," DPI said in a press release. Dow and DPI will focus on canola, the third largest crop in Australia.
