Biotech Book Off the Press

"The Unfolding Gene Revolution: Ideology, Science, and Regulation of Plant Biotechnology" is off the press.The book unravels the development of plant biotechnology, specifically genetic engineering. Dr. Eufemio T. Rasco, Jr., a plant breeder and professor of science, technology and society at the University of the Philippines in Mindanao, Philippines, reviews the basic sciences relevant to biotechnology and the art and science of genetic engineering in a simple, non-technical and humorous way. The author also discusses existing global biosafety regulations, as well as the controversies and issues surrounding the field.
