
FAO Expands its Coverage of Biotech in Russian and Arabic

In collaboration with its Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has just launched the Russian version of its Biotechnology website (at http://www.fao.org/biotech/index.asp?lang=ru), which includes a wide range of features such as an overview of FAO's activities in the field of biotechnology; updated news and event items; the FAO Biotechnology Glossary; an e-mail forum; links to national biotechnology policy documents of FAO Members; and an on-line documents section.
FAO has also just launched FAO-BiotechNews-Ar, an e-mail newsletter providing updates of news and event items in Arabic that are relevant to applications of agricultural biotechnologies in food and agriculture in developing countries.
