UAE to Set-up Agricultural Research Center

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have set up the Baniyas Centre for Agricultural Research that aims to provide UAE farmers the latest technology to increase yields of their crops. The center will be in Baniyas, located at the outskirts of the capital Abu Dhabi. Netherland's Wageningen University will oversee the center and  will also provide research and training for local staff. The center will include three 400 m2 units of closed agricultural systems using modern technology, two 480 m2 units that use conventional technology, and two protected greenhouses.
