Syngenta Licenses Chromatin’s Gene Stacking Technology

Syngenta Biotechnology Inc. announced that it has entered a research and commercial licensing agreement with Chromatin Inc. to use Chromatin’s proprietary gene stacking technology. Chromatin Inc. is a US based biotech company that has developed a novel approach to gene stacking, using the plant's own DNA to deliver several genes on a mini-chromosome. The mini-chromosomes can be used in any plant to introduce multiple genes at once while maintaining precise control of gene expression. Under the agreement, Syngenta was given non-exclusive rights to use the gene stacking technology for trait genes in maize and soybean.
