
EU Sets Up Expert Group to Examine Patent Law in Biotechnology

The European Commission invites experts in the field of patent law and biotechnology that will compose a new expert group on patent law. As per EU Directive 98/44/EC, the expert group will examine the implications of patent law in the field of biotechnology and genetic engineering and provide high quality legal and technical expertise which will help the Commission with its reporting obligations. The group of 15 will be appointed for two years, renewable once. End of application is 12 December 2012.
