Corn Rust Webcasts Launched in ‘Focus on Corn'

Dr. Snook Pataky, Professor Emeritus of Plant Pathology of the University of Illinois is featured in two webcasts on the Common Rust of Corn. Part 1: Differentiating Common Rust and Southern Rust of Corn describes methods to differentiate common and southern rust in the field and in the lab, and Part 2: Common Rust of Corn discuss the basic life cycle of Puccinia sorghi and the epidemiology of common rust. Factors that cause the disease to become problematic and effective methods of control also are discussed.
