Colombia and Argentina Sign Agreement to Promote Cooperation in Biotechnology

Heads of science and technology ministers of Colombia and Argentina have recently signed a collaborative agreement to promote science, technology, and innovation in their countries. Colombian Director General of Department of Administrative Science, Technology and Innovation Jaime Restrepo and the Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina Lino Barañao agreed to undertake and promote mutual cooperation in the fields of research in information technology and communication, biotechnology as applied to health, nutrition, and renewable energy, nanotechnology and sustainable use of biodiversity.

The five year agreement will also cover various research, development and innovation activities such as seminars, business roundtable talks as well as strategies and country regulations for small and medium-sized enterprises to mutually develop country products, processes, and services.
