October 22, 2010 |
The Australian Office of the Gene Technology Regulator in its assessment process invites comments on the license application of Monsanto Australia Ltd. for a limited and controlled release of a GM canola modified for herbicide tolerance. The trial aims to evaluate the agronomic performance of the GM canola line and herbicide tolerance under field conditions.
The trial is proposed to take place in 46 possible local government areas (LGAs) in New South Wales, 28 in Victoria and 53 in Western Australia for over four years from March 2011 to December 2014.
Comments on the prepared Risk Assessment and Risk Management Plan should be received by close of business on 26 November 2010. The consultation RARMP and related documents can be obtained from http://www.ogtr.gov.au
