APHIS Seeks Comments on Biotech Alfalfa EIS

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is getting public comments on its draft environmental impact statement (EIS). The EIS evaluates the potential environmental effects of deregulating alfalfa genetically engineered (GE) to be resistant to the herbicide glyphosate. This is in compliance with the court order to document potential environmental impacts.
The draft EIS is available on the APHIS Web site at http://www.aphis.usda.gov. An APHIS Questions and Answers document is posted at
