Ukraine Amends Law on GMOs

Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine has just amended a law on the biosafety and related issues on the "creation, testing, transport and use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs)". An additional clause was introduced for the establishment of a central executive body for veterinary medicine.
The executive body will be responsible for state registration of GMO sources of feed, feed additives and veterinary products containing GMOs or derived from their use; approve list of feeds, feed additives and veterinary drugs, along with monitoring of their GMO content; and monitor the feed, feed additives and veterinary drugs obtained using GMOs.
