Agdia Inc. NPTII ImmnunoStrip for Testing Transgenic Cotton
June 18, 2009 |
A new lateral flow test strip, a quick test to differentiate specifically Roundup Ready Ready® cottonseed from Roundup Ready® Flex cottonseed is now available according to the manufacturer Agdia Inc. The test involves the use of the marker gene NPT II neomycin phosphotransferase II which is present only in the Roundup Ready® cottonseed and absent in the Roundup Ready® Flex cottonseed. The Immunostrip is much faster and user friendly compared to other methods of detection such as polymerase chain reaction and plate culturing.
The NPTII ImmunoStrip is ready for immediate sale and complements Agdia's comprehensive portfolio of validated, easy-to-use ImmunoStrips for identifying transgenic traits.
