September 16, 2026| |
The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), Inc., in partnership with the Department of Agriculture - Biotechnology Program Office (DA-BPO), will take part in the 22nd National Biotechnology Week celebration from September 21 to 24, 2026, at the DENR Multipurpose Hall in Quezon City, with the theme "Biotek Para sa Kinabukasan: Kalikasan, Kalusugan, Kagandahan, Kabuhayan, at Kaunlaran". To highlight agri-biotech innovations, ISAAA Inc. is hosting two key initiatives: a hybrid forum titled "Cultivating Resilience: A Forum on Ag-biotech Solutions for Climate-Smart Agriculture" on September 24, and a week-long interactive exhibit featuring educational games, publications, and engaging displays. Registration for online participation in the hybrid forum is now open.
The hybrid forum will take place on September 24, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM (GMT+8), both on-site and online via Facebook Live. Moderated by Dr. Jaime A. Manalo IV of PhilRice, the forum will provide a platform for scientific exchange and feature expert insights from Ms. Agnes Catherine T. Miranda, CESO III of the Department of Agriculture - Climate Resilient Agriculture Office (DA-CRAO), and Dr. Leilani D. Pelegrina of the DOST Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD). The discussions will focus on two topics:
- The Landscape of Philippine Agriculture Amid Climate Change
- Agri-biotech Innovations for Advancing Climate-Resilient Agriculture
Through these combined activities, ISAAA Inc. aims to bring science closer to the public and foster meaningful discussions on building a resilient, sustainable future for Filipino farmers through biotechnology. Register now for free to secure an online slot in the hybrid forum at bit.ly/CultivatingResilienceRegForm.
