Leading Breakthroughs: Gene Drives for a Sustainable Agriculture and Biodiversity Conservation

ISAAA Inc., in collaboration with the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries Biotechnology Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA Biotech Program Office), will hold a webinar titled Leading Breakthroughs: Gene Drives for a Sustainable Agriculture and Biodiversity Conservation aimed at providing information and recent developments on the new and emerging applications of gene drives. The webinar is scheduled for December 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (GMT+8), via Zoom. The registration is now open to all interested participants.
The discussions will include:
- Gene Drive Applications in Food and Agriculture
- Fighting Biodiversity Loss with Gene Drive Tools
The webinar is part of the webinar series on an array of topics about new and emerging technologies in agri-biotechnology in the global and Philippine context. This is the second webinar in the series and will provide an overview of gene drive applications and opportunities in food, agriculture, health, and biodiversity. This webinar will feature Dr. Maria Genaleen Q. Diaz, Director of the Institute of Biological Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences at the University of the Philippines Los BaƱos (UPLB), and Prof. Paul Thomas, a Professor in the School of Biomedicine, University of Adelaide and a Scientific Director of the Genome Editing Program and the SA Genome Editing Facility at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
