
Pre-COPMOP 2022: Asian Regional Workshop on Current and Upcoming Items Under the CBD and its Protocols

ISAAA Inc. and partners are organizing the Pre-COPMOP 2022: Asian Regional Workshop on Current and Upcoming Items Under the CBD and its Protocols, which will be held on November 8-9, 2022 in Manila, Philippines. Registration is now open to all interested participants.
The workshop aims to prepare participants for the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties or COP-15 and 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety or COP-MOP 10) to be held in Montreal, Canada in December 2022.
The Pre-COPMOP sessions will cover the following topics:
- crop improvement technologies and Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and its protocols
- gene editing and its regulations
- updates from the CBD secretariat
The workshop is open to government regulators, scientists, and policymakers who plan to participate in the CBD meetings in Montreal, Canada in December, or are part of the team. Topics of discussion are carefully chosen as they are the trending items and require serious attention from stakeholders. This event is co-organized with BioTrust Global, Malaysian Biotechnology Information Centre, Public Research and Regulation Initiative, and the US Department of Agriculture.
