
GM Notifications in Europe

Notifications on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) for non-commercial use in Europe have been posted online. For January 2008, these include:
- GM DP-098140-6 maize by Pioneer Hi Bred Northern Sales Division in Germany
- Potato plant AV43-6-G7 with reduced amylose content by AVEBE in the Netherlands
- Investigation of the influence of GM maize resistant to glyphosate (NK603) on weed population in crop rotation compared with conventional weed control system in maize by Plant Protection Institute (Instytut Ochrony Roslin) in Poland; and
- Sugarbeet tolerant to glyphosate and resistant to virus disease Rhizomania by Syngenta Seeds in Sweden
