Biotech Crops Seminar and Writing Contest in Hanoi

The Biotechnology Information Center in Hanoi, in collaboration with the Faculty of Biotechnology of Hanoi, University of Agriculture held a seminar and writing contest on biotech crops on November 26, 2013. Taking part in the event were more than 400 participants composed of teachers and students.
During the seminar, Prof. Dr. Le Huy Ham, Director General of the Institute of Agricultural Genetics under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, presented a comprehensive and updated discussion on biotech crops and its potentials in Vietnam's food production endeavors. Mr. Le Duc Linh of Agbiotech Vietnam gave a brief introduction on the website of AgbiotechVietnam and subscription to Crop Biotech Update of ISAAA. The second part of the event brought all the students to participate in a writing contest on the basic knowledge of biotech crops and its potential in Vietnam's agriculture. Sixteen entries were selected to win prizes.
