
US and Pakistan to Enhance Scientific Research in Agri-sector

Agricultural Counselor of US Embassy in Pakistan Clay Hamilton and Pakistan Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research (NFSR) Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan met in Islamabad to discuss cooperative programs to increase farmer's income in the Pakistan. The minister said the government was fully committed to modernize the agricultural infrastructure of the country and appreciated the efforts of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) by launching various projects about agri-development.
Aside from the livestock production and disease control, the collaborative projects discussed include the capacity building and training programs for Pakistani wheat scientists in the US and to hold a Biotechnology conference with the participation and support of NFSR.
