No GM Wheat Strain in US Exports

June 13, 2013

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that the wheat exported by the country do not contain any strain of unapproved GM wheat discovered in Oregon. Furthermore, the field owned by the farmer who reported the GM wheat, also showed no evidence of further contamination, and interviews with farmers led to a finding that the strain did not spread in their fields. Thus, USDA concluded that the GM wheat is not in the stream of commerce but they will continue their investigations to clear out the the safety concern on wheat.
