Review on EU Agricultural Policies on GE Crops
May 2, 2013 |
Gemma Masip from University of Lleida-Agrotecnio Center,Spain and colleagues evaluated the inconsistencies in the present agricultural policies of the European Union concerning genetically engineered (GE) products. According to Masip, there is a huge discrepancy in these regulations. In their paper published at Trends in Plant Science, they presented case studies that show how the EU agricultural policies are affecting not just the European economy but also the global economy. Thus, Masip recommended a bottom-up revision of the regulatory framework governing GE crops.
