Paraguay to Produce Bt Cotton Seeds

Minister of Agriculture Enzo Cardozo announced that Paraquay is set to produce its own transgenic cotton seeds. According to the government website IPParaguay, an agreement will be signed with the Paraguayan Institute of Agricultural Technology (IPTA) to boost seed production.
The IPTA will assess for a year or two the seeds obtained locally before distribution to farmers, Cardozo explained.
