Maize Technologies for Pakistan
September 5, 2012Two drought tolerant maize technologies have been developed by Pioneer Seed Company (Dupont) and Syngenta in Pakistan using germplasm breeding techniques. Monsanto on the other hand, is working to develop 'Droughtgard' through genetic modification and the product maybe available in 2013-14.
Although corn is not a major crop in Pakistan as compared to wheat or cotton, it is still important as feed for poultry and as food in some provinces.
