Kansas State University to Pilot Farmer Crops Database

March 25, 2011

Kansas State University extension agronomists have developed a Farmer Crop Database which is piloted for the first year to evaluate corn populations across Kansas. Farmers will be able to make comparisons with other farmers on plant populations, fertilizer treatments, planting dates and other factors through the database.

"If the pilot is successful this first year, we hopefully will be able to expand the database to all crops with some outside support and make the database more interactive," Olson said. "However this first year, the goal is to simplify the focus and look at corn populations."
