Two New Trait Technology Platforms Highlight 2010 DEKALB® Lineup

DEKALB announced the release of 18 new corn hybrids and nine new soybean varieties which feature two new trait technology platforms - Genuity™ SmartStax™ corn and Genuity™ Roundup Ready 2 Yield™ soybeans. The Genuity™ SmartStax™ traits in the seven hybrid corn deliver the most advance insect control system available above and below ground. In addition, it contains herbicide tolerance for broad spectrum weed and grass control.
The Genuity™ Roundup Ready 2 Yield™ technology in the nine soybean varieties carry significantly higher yield potential due to increased number of pods, from three to four per plant. It yields around 7 to 11 percent higher than the Roundup Ready® soybeans. In addition, seven new hybrids with the YieldGard VT Triple™ corn promises high yield, excellent insect protection and weed control. The hybrids are characterized by having full root mass, thus, having better access to moisture and nutrients deeper into the soil profile, leading to higher production.
