Farmer's Approval on GM Canola at Canowindra, Australia

May 13, 2011

Mick Townsend, a grower of GM canola from Canowindra, New South Wales, Australia, expressed his approval on the use of the crop. He said that it is the GM technology that moved him to plant GM canola.

"There are dozens of other traits that can be introduced to some of our current species which give us better moisture usage, disease control and yields, and this can happen as soon as people become better informed about of the benefits of genetic modification," he said.

Mr. Townsend yielded two tons of GM canola per hectare last year.
