Questions and Answers: Development of Fruit and Shoot Borer-Resistant Eggplant in the Philippines is now available for downloading at http://www.isaaa.org/programs/supportprojects/abspii/download/Eggplant/Eggplant%20Q&A%20(June2010).pdf. It contains frequently asked questions and answers about a popular and leading vegetable and attempts to overcome yield losses due to the fruit and shoot borer (FSB) disease. Some of the issues tackled are about FSB, its control and management, alternative control methods, and the FSB-resistant eggplant being developed by different organizations led by the Institute of Plant Breeding, University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB). The research project is being implemented by several partners which include aside from UPLB, the Agricultural Biotechnology Support Project II, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Indian Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company Ltd.
