iBiotech 2008 in Indonesia
March 19, 2008 |
A mobile biotechnology road show "iBiotech 2008" was conducted in four cities in Indonesia to introduce science, particularly biotechnology to elementary school students from 7th to 12th grade. The road show patterned after BioPop, a science introduction program in the European community was organized by the Indonesian Biotechnology Students Forum (IBSF), and supported by Genomic Network for Young Scientists (GeNeYouS), Netherland, Netherlands Education Support Office (NESO) Indonesia, and State Ministry of Research and Technology. It is hoped that the highly successful event would educate young minds on biotechnology so as not to be affected by any negative issues in the future.
Details of the activity can be accessed at: http://www.media-indonesia.com/berita.asp?id=160378. Contact the secretariat of IBSF at president_ibsf@yahoo.com or Dewi Suryani of IndoBic at dewisuryani@biotrop.org for more information.
