Animal Biotechnology Symposium and Stakeholder Consultation

ISAAA Inc., in partnership with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), will hold the hybrid event Animal Biotechnology Symposium and Stakeholder Consultation on July 4, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (GMT+8) in Eusebio Castillo Hall, PCC, Science City of Muñoz, Philippines. Registration is now open.
The event aims to serve as an avenue for discussing the science of animal biotechnology and the proposed guidelines for genetically modified animals and animal products in the Philippines. Specific topics will include:
- The Science of Genetically Modified Animals (Livestock, Poultry, Aquaculture, and Insects)
- Rules and Regulations for the Research and Development, Handling and Use, Transboundary Movement, Release into the Environment, and Management of Genetically Modified (GM) Animal and Animal Products Derived from the Use of Modern Biotechnology in the Philippines
The symposium will also feature biotechnology experts from the Philippines, including Dr. Maribel Zaporteza of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Ms. Ma. Lorelei U. Agbagala of the National Committee on Biosafety of the Philippines, Dr. Abraham J. Manalo of the University of the Philippines Diliman, and Dr. Rhodora Romero-Aldemita of ISAAA Inc.
