Royal Society Reports on Sustainable Biofuels
January 18, 2008 |
The Royal Society, an independent scientific academy dedicated to promoting excellence in science in the United Kingdom, has released a policy document on "Sustainable biofuels: Prospects and challenges." It discusses issues such as conversion and biorefineries, end use and distribution, evaluating the impact of biofuels, policy, and research and development.
Among the document's recommendations include a call to the UK government to provide "support to many of the R D & D niches in this sector, including biotechnology, agronomy, land use assessment and the calculation of biofuel supply potential".
