Russian Biotech Registration Procedure for GMO Feeds

The testing and registration of biotechnology feeds in Russia has been transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (VPSS). VPSS developed the registration procedure for animal feeds produced from genetically modified organisms and is available on the Ministry of Agriculture website. The United States Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service reports that while the procedure is still subject for comments and discussion, it is already being used to approve applications.
