Vietnam Holds Conference on Biological Research and Teaching

The 2nd National Scientific Conference on Biological Research and Teaching in Vietnam was held at Da Nang University of Education on May 20, 2016. The conference provided academic environment for scientists, educators, and managers in the field of biology to discuss appropriate directions in biological research and teaching.
Participants and presentors include representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, National Committee for Man and Biosphere, Agricultural Genetics Institute, Environmental Research and Education Center and several local organizations. More than 200 teachers, researchers, and students from 10 universities and research institutes across the country also joined the event.
During the plenary session, the presentations focused on biological and biotechnological training, teaching, research, particularly about genetic engineering. Presentations in the session of biological applications for life and social development raised the issue of the biotechnological application research in agriculture, fisheries, and medicine.
