AATF and AU Sign MoU for Agricultural Technology Transfer

The African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF) and the Commission of the African Union (AU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 23, 2012 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where they agreed to work together on agricultural technology access and transfer, stewardship, intellectual property, regulatory matters and public/private partnerships for agricultural development.
In an event attended by Dr. Ibrahim Miyaki, the NEPAD Agency Chief Executive Officer and Rhoda Tumusiime Peace, the AU Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture, the parties agreed to help Sub-Saharan African smallholder farmers have access to innovative technologies.
