Biotech Standing Report of Portugal Released
The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service released the Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) Report for Portugal. The report contains assessments of commodity and trade issues of biotech plants and animals in Portugal, which is the second largest producer of GM crops in the European Union. According to the report, the area planted with biotech corn increased by about 60 percent, based on the mandatory notifications forwarded by farmers.
