
ISAAA-produced Biotech Videos Awarded in International Agrofilm Festival

Two biotech videos produced by the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications were recognized by an international jury from 11 countries in the 24th International Film Festival AGROFILM in Nitra, Slovak Republic. The United Nations-Food and Agriculture Organization "Osiris" Prize was awarded to the video film "Nurturing the Seeds of Cooperation: The Papaya Biotechnology Network of Southeast Asia" and the Diploma of the International Jury to the video film "Asia's First: The Bt Corn Story in the Philippines." The two winning videos were selected from 48 preselected ones from a total of 139 entries which originated from 28 countries.
The event was held to inform and disseminate through film production the knowledge of the science, research, development, and practice in the areas of agriculture, food production, human nourishment, forestry, water management, ecology of land that is used for agricultural and forestry purposes, country and country inhabitants issues.
